Seriously?? The only reason people are more attentive when a traffic signal is out is because it is different. Once they go through that intersection a few times, they adapt, and revert to being the same reckless fools they were before.

Be sure to let us know if Moore county goes to the "free for all" method of traffic control, so I can stay up in Lee county.

Cancer, slaughter, impending doom, termination?? A little overly dramatic reaction there, Martha. Take a few deep breaths, lay off the caffiene, and calm down, your over the top approach does nothing to further your cause.

So the scraggly trees on US1 were the ONLY reason you moved here, and your friends visited? Thats too bad, because you missed a lot of other nice things about the area.

Good luck on your move, and don't let the door hit you in the backside on the way out.

The scenario of a divider causing cars to careen back into travel lanes being less safe than head on, high speed collisions seems a bit of a stretch. The writer strikes me as a "if the Government is involved, it has to be bad" type of person.

As far as "we should get to choose", I choose gaurdrails over some scraggly shrubs, anytime.

I have never heard of a ticket being given for 1 MPH over the limit. The speed limits are clearly posted, so I really don't understand where the "unfair" part is.

The fact is, there are golfers coming from all over the globe to shell out those $400 greens fees to play course #2, and they spread their money around the surrounding towns, and keep a lot of local folks working at the Resort and other related business.

It sounds like Mr. Thibideau may have played #2, and got bitten by the teeth Donald Ross intended the course to have, not the grass lined resort style course that it had become.

Most of these comments truely reinforce the reasons I abandoned organized religion many years ago.

Ending the Bush tax cuts for higher income people, (over $250,000), would cost them an extra 3 or 4%. Really now, if you're making 250k a year, and can't manage this, maybe you're living a little too large. The insatiable greed in this country will be the end of us someday.

The problem with continuing to keep your head in the sand, by denying the future feasability of greener forms of energy, is that it leaves your tail end up in the air, waiting to get bit off, when the Middle East shuts down the oil flow.

That might be because it makes no sense.
