Sequestration has nothing to do with present projects and future planning. The grants for the two runway extension projects have already been allocated and in fact one of the two projects has been completed. The "beautiful" lobby is old and obsolete, designed many years ago for now non-existant airline service. There is no longer airline service at the Moore County Airport, never will be, and the last experiment with service was a financial disaster. Half the building is wasted space, a re-do is long overdue. Word is that plans have been prepared to revise the interior of the building to reflect what the airport actually does: support personal and charter/fractional operations, flight instruction and maintenance by providing more office space, better crew space, better vendor locations, better space for flight instruction and the PC based aviation training device and better passenger space, all just waiting until $ are available to pay for the work.

Presidents Day is "a rather silly and manufactured holiday"? It celebrates the birthdays of Washington & Lincoln and has been expanded to honor all former Presidents, including the first President, the image of whom appears on the Purple Heart. Once again Bouser shows himself to have the depth of a very shallow puddle in a parking lot! Is he stupid, just has bad luck when he is writing or simply senile?

Levy is a prime example of the 'caucus of ignorance" as mentioned by Paul Krugman, ie: those who reject all critical thinking skills in favor of fixed beliefs and the desire to perpetuate ignorance by factual supression.

First, the United States was, is and always will be totally different socially, politically, geographically and economically than the Soviet Union from the time of the Russian revolution until the time the Soviet Union collapsed; two entities which can not rationally be compared. Second, the reality is we are not suffering hyperinflation and we are coming out of a substantial recession. Third, our leaders are neither anti-capitalism nor anti-capitalists, quite the contrary as anyone who listens, thinks and refuses to join the ignorance caucus understands.

If ignorance is bliss Mr. Alley must be ecstatic.

Trying to reson with the loonytunes like "packwilleat" and "dingomike" is much like trying to teach a pig to whistle. It doesn't work. Why? Because a pig isn't sufficiently bright to understand what is being offered. All such attempts accomplish is to annoy the pig. Now, all things considered, this is hardly a big deal. The problem, such as it is, in that pigs, when annoyed, squeal and raise hell as if they were being killed. Just another example of the far right/GOP/teabag ignorance caucus/agenda at work, people who for whatever reason reject critical thinking & refuse to live in a world based on reality.

And who will pay for the personnel, hardware and software to administer and police this program? This isn't the military where a general can just order up another couple of hundred enlisted folks and whatever else is necessary to implement some not necessarily workable idea.

Have to wonder why Bob Levy, who doesn't have the IQ of a brick, has to get involved. If Godfrey has the qualifications and the capability to do the job that's great. If not then he shoudn't be appointed and if appointed he won't last long. Levy is at best tiresome, boring, obsolete and not very bright.

Sounds like "let them eat cake". Suspect the people who lack photo ID don't go out of town much or just have someone pick up their mail for them.

"Courseaire", it' simply that more people are starting to agree with Dusty and abandon the GOP sinking ship. Takes a while but most people eventually come to understand what makes sense.
