PS Germany is an anomoly because they make a concious decision not to borrow, borrow, borrow. Them being an anomoly has nothing to do with my beliefs...oh wait "faulty beliefs" I never said that Americans couldn't learn from Germany. We def. could but we never will, not until we go through an econmic climate similar to what they had after WWII. We won't move in that direction on our own...asnd we won't go there just because our President thinks it's best for the country.
Jason, I never said you responded to Germany. Which just proves what I was saying. My point was the way they choose to live is why they are an economic power. Germans choose not to live beyond their means (something most credit card using Americans can't imagine) as do their other sucessful neighbors. I take it that is all made up BS too. I'm done losing time talking to you on this issue. You have your mind made up that the EURO caused the collapse of those countries. I won't argue that the EURO has def. been a major contributing factor. But one last time I will say, that entitlements and a lack of work ethics are just as much a part of the problem.People get lazy when socialist ideas are implemented. I'm not accusing you of being a socialist, I'm just stating "what I believe to be true" :)
Jason, you missed the point of the link I posted. It was to show you that the countries that are doing well in the EU (i.e. Norway) are paying extreme taxes and they also have natural resources to rely upon. I personally don't wish to give 47% of what I earn to the government. And you totally missed the boat on what I was saying about Germany......
Jason, do yourself a favor and read about Norway's taxes and tell me that you would love a VAT...I know you would. You sound like you don't mind giving away your hard earned money.. Maybe they will take you in Norway....that is if you are willing to work for a living.
Jason- Love that you are relying on Wikipedia of all sources for your info. Beautiful. I am well aware of the debt crisis in Europe. Do you know what it will take for them to overcoome it?? I doubt it. You keep reading wikipedia. I will continue to read reliable sources and study world-wide economic trends especially since my job requires I do so. The EU could get out of their debt crisis if other countries would take a page from Germany. That's all I am going to say about that.
P.S. Everything I said was stated in fact from facts. Just because you don't like the facts doesn't give you any position to dismiss them. Debate them fine, I don't care, but don't be ignorant to the problem that is exacerbating the very European Debt Crisis you seem to be so hung up on. Entitlements have become a major problem in First World countries and more entitlements are not the answer.....unless of course you're getting a gov't check.......
P.S. Mr. Rhoades, Thanks for regurgitating MSNBC, CNN, and HLN. A lawyer that loves Obama....go figure. Let me guess, John Edwards is your hero. FYI I am 31 yr. old male who has many beliefs that are on the left side of the issue, but when it comes to the economy I am conservative all the way and right now with our economic climate that means I'll be voting Romney in Nov. along with a lot of other people my age. This country needs a change.....not just the promise of one, which we got in 08. By this I mean change that is good for the country overall not just 17 million extra people that we as tax payers have to foot the bill for. I’m more than capable of receiving entitlements, I choose not to because I can work despite my disability. I choose not to be a pariah on an already faulty and failing system.
The problems in Europe stem from the fact that almost all the countries in the EU are entitlement ridden. Get your facts straight before you start posting. The Euro is a small part of the problem. The Euro isn't the reason the citizens of France only want to work 3 days a week, they want this because they are lazy and have a sense of entitlement. Lazy and a sense of entitlement.....sounds like what is happening in our own backyard. As far as Germany goes they are an anomaly. Their culture is built upon the idea of austerity (look it up). People and this includes the uneducated writer of the article above, read, educate yourselves, and don’t let someone tell you what or how to believe. I encourage you all to read about Germany and why their country is a success, and then compare Germany to the other countries in the EU. PS all of you who agree with this article probably believe that the UN is a great organization too……suckers
Glad to see this guy is behind bars. Sounds like he is a pretty dangerous dude. Let's see how bad he is now that he is facing murder 1. I hope that are justice system can seal the deal and get this guy convicted and on death row.
