Glad to see so many speaking out about the great job our firefighters/rescue personnel do, and educating the ignorant in the process. I'm sure the rescuers involved didn't mind a call with a happy ending, it's nice to see those every once in a while. Thank you FF/EMS, and police too!
My oldest dog is from the Haven, we adopted her in 2001. I certainly wouldn't want to see the Haven close down or get taken over by the state. I like the idea from Bflat about a sort of "Habitat for Animals". I don't have any type of building experience, but I would be there to lend a hand in any way possible.
Bad business on Gibson's part. If you make enough enemies in a small town area like this, you'll eventually go from bad business, to no business. I hope S.P. wins and demands costs of the lawsuit as well as actual, compensatory and general damages from Gibson.
Kids make stupid choices sometimes. Does that make them bad people, or criminals? No. But that doesn't mean that if they get caught you slap their wrist and look the other way either. Part of growing up is learning that when you make a bad choice, you may have to live with the unpleasant consequences. For these kids, it is also a lesson that their choices don't just affect them, but they can hurt people close to them as well.
@ protectingmine, from one parent to another, I've been through it with one of my sons, and even though your heart is breaking, just hang in there, it does get better. If he can't walk the stage for high school graduation, make him promise that he will do everything necessary to take that walk for his college degree.
I hope that if they pay restitution they will be eligible to have this removed from their record.
How come there is no mention of the Run for the Ribbons 5K and 1K run/walk that started at 9am? It was a benefit for the Cancer Care Fund and about 300 people registered for it. The race was fun, a challenging off road course, and I will definitely be there if they decide to host a 5K every year!
