I like the new site. I really appreciate that it has crosswords. Will they be daily? The 8.00 seems like a fair price to pay for the service. I'll certainly be giving the new system a try.

Mr. Nagy wrote recently of this as well. Whether the Pilot has great health insurance, or y'all have never had to use it often. Really. It's bad out here in health care land.

You're both in a position to help the situation! Use the paper as a bully pulpit to spread the word! Read the books "Over Do$ed" and "Over Diagnosed"; then, when your blood pressure settles down, start a series of editorials and articles exposing the health care system for what it is (or more correctly, isn't). After the first first two or three articles I'm afraid you both will have been replaced and things will return to normal.

It's ugly out here in health care land.

The young man either needs to improve his running speed, or find a new profession. Maybe a lower public profile would help.

Pay no attention to the public listed sanctions on the North Carolina Medical Board web site. It's all better now.

Don't worry about the FDA public notice, either. http://www.fda.gov/downloads/MedicalDevices/Safety/AlertsandNotices/UCM262760.pdf?utm_campaign=Google2&utm_source=fdaSearch&utm_medium=website&utm_term=TVM&utm_content=1

"The FDA also conducted a systematic review of the scientific literature to learn more about the safety and effectiveness of POP and SUI using surgical mesh. The FDA determined that (1) serious adverse events are NOT rare, contrary to what was stated in the 2008 PHN, and (2) transvaginally placed mesh in POP repair does NOT conclusively improve clinical outcomes over traditional non-mesh repair. The FDA is providing this update to advise the public and the medical community of complications related to transvaginal POP repair with mesh."

Enjoy the free chow!

When Sheriff Carter stated with a straight face that he had never heard of Operation Robin Sage or Pineland in all his years, I was saddened. I feel he was less than forth coming during that awful tragedy that forever marred the Moore County support of the military. It was a dark day for all involved.

I can find no broad difference between her beliefs and those of any other religion. At least her beliefs aren't violent.

If y'all are gonna start a class war, I'll pick the military side! :)

You'll also need a thick skin for the editing of your work. After many light house letter awards, the edit on what became my last letter to The Pilot was so shocking I couldn't even recognize what I had written! I was stunned to see my name below the words. So, no, I'm not made of the "write" stuff. No loss to the Pilot or her readers : ) I wish the new writers well.

I would like to see e-books replace the outmoded book mobile method of content delivery. It will be cheaper to provide the dwindling numbers of book mobile users an e-reader than continue to support the book mobile. Kinda like ice delivery, milk delivery and paper routes have disappeared.

I don't think it would have marred the article to indicate that the (oddly named) Party Poopers had relocated. As it is, it sounds like they folded their tent and left. They didn't.
