All the fancy movie effects in the world won't make up for the loud, rude, unsupervised kids that scream and shout and play with their cell phones all movie long; effectively ruining it for everyone else.
Progressives/Liberals/Socialists (basically the same thing), welcome to the world YOU have created. Since the Roosevelt/Wilson era, you have been screaming for the government to tackle every issue: government must rule on alcohol use, government must tackle obesity, government must provide healthcare, government must provide a retirement, government must provide housing, government must fix poverty, government should finance 'green' energy, government should provide college tuition, government should decide on labor disputes, government should set a minimum wage, government should provide phones, government should provide Internet, government should require a license to enter EVERY industry (even a barber or masseuse), government must rule on EVERYTHING. Don't be surprised when the overpowering government YOU'VE created doesn't rule your way occasionally. Your struggle will NEVER end as long as you continue to turn to government to solve any and all of your problems, instead of turning to God.
Entering "Drug" into the Pilot's search box shows some of the drug charges and their punishment. Here are the first five:
• http://www.thepilot.com/news/2012/mar... He was caught with roughly $1,500 worth of heroin. Charged with 3 felonys and a misdemeanor. Bond set at $75,000.
• http://www.thepilot.com/news/2011/jul... Morrison was found with $520 worth of drugs. He got four charges (a few felony) and bond set at $25,000.
• http://www.thepilot.com/news/2011/aug... McLaughlin was busted with 112 grams of marijuana (about the weight of a stick of deodorant). He received five charges (a few felony). Bond set at $7,500.
• http://www.thepilot.com/news/2009/oct... This 66 year-old man was busted with 190 Endocet pills. He received THIRTEEN charges and bond was set at $100,000.
• http://www.thepilot.com/news/2010/jan... Ware was found with a mere 12 ounces of marijuana (about the weight of a q-tip). He received three charges, and bond was set at a whopping $25,000.
Pretty much all of these people got some sort of a mix of: possession of [drugs], possession of paraphernalia, Possession with intent to distribute, possession with intent to deliver, maintaining a dwelling to keep a controlled substance. And I know I've seen maintaining a vehicle for drug use and other variations.
Apparently there is no: Maintaining a vehicle/dwelling to commit rape and kidnapping, raping someone with intent to harm, kidnapping someone with intent to rape, raping someone with intent to kidnap, and so on.
Is it just me, or is something screwed up here?
To clarify, I'm not calling for more laws; rather, make the existing law for each bust (see the Fifth Amendment) and make it congruent to the crime that was committed....and make it count.
Here's the problem, I certainly agree that more people in this area need to be prepared to deliver "two in the chest, one in the head" to these thugs while they are trying to steal, kill, and destroy in our once quaint little retirement town. But these days once that happens, a firestorm comes from all over the country (Sharpton, the Black kittens (panthers), and the usual crowd), and their far-removed voices and protests become louder than the community's support for the person who defended him or herself. Quite the contrary. Once the usual crowd shows up, the pro self-defense and pro second amendment folks (like us) tend to just remain silent so as not to get involved because as we all know the standard response is to deem us 'racists'––the unforgivable sin. That is PRECISELY what has emboldened these animals to make them feel as though they are untouchable....and in some sense they are because the thugs have national support and don't mind busing in an army of protestors while we just quietly let them have their fiery demonstration and "hope for the best".
All I'm saying is that right now the consensus seems to be "something needs to be done," but when an officer or a citizen does defend him or herself, we need not be intimidated by what could very well follow. We need to let it be known that we will stand with our police officers and citizens when the inevitable crowd of race-baiting, freedom destroying individuals come to town.
Count me in. We were once a nation of laws, not lawyers.
During his speech on the Buffet Tax Hikes, Obama said, “This is not just about fairness. This is also about growth. It’s about being able to make the investments we need to strengthen our economy and create jobs.”
If we take King Hussein at his (small 'h') words, he just said that he wants to tax more so he can spend more. Nowhere has he hinted at using tax hikes to reduce the debt. He just wants more money for his forced venture capital business, and everyone knows it.
Well said, Mr. Levy. Too many kids are going into five or six figure debt to get degrees in "Post-Modern Transexual Literature" and other completely useless degrees that provide the graduate with zero marketable job skills. Then they realize that they were lied to, and go "occupy" and demand someone else pay for them. Somehow they find their own personal and political greed to be more righteous than what they call "corporate greed".

If they would've had a joint on them or an unauthorized pain killer, the bond would've been set at $100,000.
