Demand for oil is down Jim. We are exporting more finished product now, than we have in a long time.We are, as you rightly point out, less dependent on foreign oil. Even less dependent on Mid-East oil. ( We get a few barrels from Canada.) So why is gas steadily rising? The only thing that tracks with the rising cost of gas, food, and just about everything else, is the sinking value of our dollar.

I'm glad the left is so open minded, fair, and understanding.

And on the whole charter change thing, I think someone told Mr Davis a story.

Thanks! Haven't laughed that hard, and long, since the River Dance Chimps on that TV commercial.

SH59~ I think what Joe meant is we don't know enough yet. Many of us, including myself, have not made up their minds on this issue. Water, in Moore County, is of great importance to me. Water is our future. Energy and jobs are important as well. If it comes down to sacrifice of water, I'll be against. I'm not there yet. I do know the flame from the tap water thing was a problem, in that area, before fracking. I've heard "the sky is falling" from many of the same people in the past, so I can't criticize anyone for trying to learn more.

Fortunately, Joe does not represent the people of Robbins. He should probably wait a little while before deciding whether this was a bad move, or the correct move. We don't know everything, and time will tell. I noticed one thing from the start. Mr Hayfield was offered a face saving way out, and didn't take it. Instead of writing on his next resume " Leaving current position seeking better opportunity", he gets to write," I was fired, then went running to the mayor who had just lost in an election. Oh, I also did several articles in the local paper about being fired. I feel it made my employer look really, really bad.

Yes Zippy, all us conservatives are filthy rich. I work 10 to 14 hour days, 8 days a week, simply because I'm bored. My wife does about the same. Often, as I walk the walls around my vast estate, I wonder what it would be like to worry about money. I'm sure it must be troublesome.
