One more thing I ain't never heard a southerner "cut a piece of bologna". What are you gonna do with a piece? Everybody knows a piece of food is a small bite, a pinch. How you gonna fry that up? You cut a slice of bologna and if its for a sandwich its a thinner slice or for frying its a slab, as in cut me a slab of that. Hey bub, I think somebody left you a loaf of butts when teaching you to be a North Carolinian or southerner in general
Even living here 40 years doesn't make you a North Carolinian, only being born and reared here does. And you proved it by not knowing how to "cut the lights on". Your air conditioner may be on but somebody has left the door open and is letting the air out............
I'm not sure the downtown SP merchants are happy about other new retail stores getting in on Black Friday.....have they requested an impact study yet? :)
I like the Knollwood Project as presented, however I don't think any plan should be approved unless controls are in place to proceed with the project as conceptualized. There has to be a way for the council to say we approve of "this" project but not something else. Perhaps the Bell family should come back after a developer has been chosen and a "real" plan is presented
<p>@tarheelborn....Kelly Miller does not have me "foiled" and I'm sure you not concerned about looking out for yourself either. Guess you really do belong to the government and you've never built a business. Let's not issue anymore building permits until all the homes in the area are sold, or let's run attorneys out of town until every appt is booked. Yet let's worry about the 17 coffee shops downtown. That's true progress
To call Kelly Miller a rattlesnake because he's looking out for the best interest of his family puts him in the same boat as the rest of us.....just a nest of snakes looking out for our families. There's no need for name calling whether you are for or against the project. There also is no need to waste anyones money on an impact study. The downtown businesses are niche businesses and will not be affected by retail development in the area as proposed. The downtown business group needs to get their heads out of their anus' and put out quality products at good prices and they won't need an impact study. Maybe they should study just how many coffee shoppes they need?
Please give them all a ball repair tool...PLEASE!!!?......never seen such disregard for courses than from these participants. Their parents should be ashamed for not teaching them to be good stewards of the game.
One can always make the numbers tilt toward their point of view. The largest increase in civil service jobs in American history (government) occurred during the Kennedy/Johnson years. The Great Society has bankrupted America in retrospect. No Democrat-Controlled Congress Has Balanced Federal Budget in more than 40 Years (1969). Tell me why a civil servant janitor for instance makes more in retirement than your everyday garage mechanic or a single mom having to work at Mac's Diner?
You may not be able to "cut" your way to prosperity, but you can damn sure stay out of bankruptcy. I guess it's better to fund exhibitionist art ($170 million) than to pay for science and math class tutors. I'm all for spending money on education in math and science, but not one cent for art or athletics. Get Priorities
Cut the payroll tax by not funding Social Security and adding $15 a month to new mortgages. Man That's a very sound way to both get the debt under control and to renew the housing market. Am I the only person in America that doesn't see the flaws in this plan?
Big Banks and Wall Street employ hundreds of thousands of people....but no, lets close them down and put them on public assistance too......and while you're at it why not get some of those people on public assistance to come out and clean up the mess the Occupy people will be leaving. But I guess that would require people to actually earn their keep and that's notthe democratic way
