that's cool sopinesno1...yeah, Don Davis runs for something every few years, for the last 20 year up Lillington/Dunn way. I have noticed them for years because i know a Don Davis who never liked me because I dated his daughter. Can't blame him there.:>) Could be the same one. Anyway, may the 9th will be a nicer day...when the signs start coming down. I was advised to get mine down asap, and I did...on election night. They get old quick. On another note, I remember the Democrats,(when they were in a central location in the county instead of in Southern Pines), complaining about the Obama signs being taken. I asked a former schoolteacher/volunteer there who was taking them and she said...Obama supporters! they wanted them for souveneers. What a waste of money. The signs never saw much road time and greedy "takers" helped themselves. Even that didn't stop him from winning. Maybe signs don't help. Maybe they do...whatever the case, the words provoke action and stir emotions.
I kind of like the signs for a very brief time...Not because they look good...they are all ugly as a bowling shoe. I like the reminder that we have the right to campaign and freely elect who we choose. I think picketing is an ugly site in the same way, but for a short period of time, says "This is America" and we are free. Signs really do influence behavior. Billions are spent on stationary sign ads by companies each year. The "wish" is that we would all be informed of each candadate and every issue. The truth is we are not. Samual McCutchen, political historian, said back in the 70's that "The average American is to ignorant to vote". It ticked me off then, but it sure is true. The May ballot is one thing, but in November, see if you know everyone on the ballot. Now imagine the majority of people who don't keep up with much of anything if it isn't on immediatly before Wheel of Fortune.
I reccomend removing ALL the signs about 30 seconds after the polls close. Law allows 3-10 days, depending on the municipality...but the quicker the better please.
I have a "Bait" letter from a friend in the Carthage area...rest assured the oil companies have sent their packages to these landowners by now...actually many way before.I have a copy of a bait check paid to a fracking landowner for over a million dollars. (1,282,480.77) it is from Cimarex Energy co out of Ok. NOONE knows the dangers of polluting our water supply, but we all know that once these chemicals get in it, there is no turning back.
Blimps used to be filled with explosive hydrogen because it was cheaper and helium was in demand for the war. I am sure the gurus knew the great risks...in fact, you can't be smart enough to design a blimp and not know. They probably had the same non caring greedy bulldoze ahead type people then saying...awwww you worry for nothing...just fly the thing" Well, this mess coming here dosen't fly...not with me. I am not a treehugger. I hunt responsibly, love the land and animals, and respect the fact that one persons rights end where another's begin. As I told my friend, I love ya man, but if you allow this in the name of money, you are prostituting yourself and affecting thousands of others. Give it some time. The gas will be there.
John Chapell, a writer for the Pilot, has a tremendous amount of experience in theater, TV drama and sitcoms, big screen and character roles on demand. I would love to see a pilot staff member do a really good story on John.

If I am not mistaken, John Edwards had 4 really big money making cases...i mean huge. Of the 4, one was the case where he "spoke for the unborn child" (remember that drama)and sued because a c section was not done which would have saved the child. Ok...that is why they are soooo quick to do a c section these days and he put millions in his bank account.
Now, he voted for choice on abortion.(not stirring the abortion issue...simply saying he has many faces and don't know which is a mask) How can the same individual speak for the unborn child and speak against the unborn child?
Welcome! It is small and will fit in fine. They fussed about McDonalds, they fussed about Hardees. "They" are a minority ... (doom and gloomers.) I support all businesses in Carthage. All. Food Lion is a pretty big boy and can handle itself. It is newly renovated and will do just fine. The small crowd of picket people who hated McDonalds coming here may appear...but that's their right. Free market, free to choose where to eat and shop. Great Country! I
thank God every day for allowing me to live here. We are so blessed.
Well, in the same play, Shakespere does speak of truth. You have heard it many times(although slaughtered in translation).."To thy own self be true, for then it must follow, as the night to day, thou can'st then be false to any man". I think 'ol Billy had a pretty good grasp on signatures of a quality individual. We should all ask ourselves this each day. Are we true to ourselves, or just full of -.

"signs, signs , everywhere a sign"...maybe the 60's music made more sense of things than we give it credit for.
