njc - Faith in politicians? Talk about worshiping a false idol!

Shaka - I have often heard Christians claim that without god and the bible and the rest of it, we would all be killers and rapists and thieves. They're never ready to admit that if it weren't for religion, they would feel compelled to kill and rape and steal.

I imagine they go through life thinking how much they would like to kill so-and-so, but Jesus wouldn't like it. I don't kill because I don't think it's right. But I don't have a moral code.

Davey - Are you calling on all businesses to cease accepting government money? Shall oil and coal companies start standing on their own? Do you think farmers are ready to give up their welfare, oops, I mean subsidies?

Gas prices will not drop. The demand for energy is going to skyrocket as developing countries buy more cars and eat more meat. Too, the cost to acquire oil and methane is rising. The cheap oil you got from punching a hole in the ground is long gone. Drilling wells several miles deep (for wells that only produce for three years and then you have to repeat the process) is costly.

Peak oil doesn't mean we run out of oil. It means we run out of cheap oil. And of all of the shale plays in the US only two or three are profitable. The energy companies are only getting about one-third of the cost of the gas in the marketplace. Since they can't make drilling cheaper, guess how that gas will eventually become profitable.

If you think energy costs are going to ever come down, you are living in a fool's paradise.

Thatcher - As usual you make an assertion without a shred of evidence. No sale.

noluv - It's not that I believe that 97% of climate scientists publish papers supporting the man made climate change theory, it's that scientists believe that. And I believe them.

Davey - Solar has come along well enough that the CEO of Duke Energy recently complained that it might disrupt the traditional utilities' business model.

I see solar arrays in various places around the state. So far it hasn't threatened my meals. Let's let entrepreneurs and job creators give it a try here. Or are you so wedded to big government that you're not willing to let private enterprise practice here?

You're not going to see gas prices drop in your lifetime. And the fracking boom will not change that.

If you don't know what's killing the bees, you're not paying attention.

Common sense isn't dead. it's just not being used.

It's pretty much come to this: To conservatives, all problems fall into one of two categories; it didn't happen, or it's Obama's fault. Culture indeed.

Please name the person who wants to cover all of our agricultural land with solar panels?

It's lucky you weren't on the commission when the first request for a home building permit was submitted. 'Oh, noes, we can't grow tobacco if all of our land is covered with houses!'

And no, we're not all going to be using natural gas soon enough.

njc - I can tell how religious they were by all of the references to their god in the Constitution.

BTW - Do you know what a deist is? Have you read Jefferson's bible?

Our history is not what you and Creech seem to think it is.
