Our family suffered a loss from murder in 2009. No matter the outcome (whether they convict someone or not) there is still a lose to the community. We morn our lose every day, just as the Bullock Family will from now on. The important thing is not how fast the person was caught, not the innocent until proven guilty or wait till all the facts come out: Its that a son, friend, and person was taken. Please respect the family, friends, and love ones of Lance. Until a conviction is handed down, nothing is set in stone.

Again, I add my 2 cents from personal experience. We were lucky, all involved in our murder were caught and convicted with solid evidence thanks to the amazing work of the police force

I see where a fund has been set up in his honor, but has it been mentioned where people can send condolences and flowers?

Throughout the 2011 school year, my husband and I have marveled at the intellectual growth our son has shown. Not only does he have a teacher who shows personal interest in him as an individual, but sees the potential in him as well.

Every morning our child is excited to go to school. Every afternoon he comes home with more amazing stories of experiments he tries in science, or the adventure he went on in Reading class.

For someone to read yet another great article about how wonderful our schools are and take away from it something as trivial as that comment amazes me. This event, even with the possible mistakes in mathematics, raised $22,000 for our children’s education.

These children are bright, charming, out going individuals who are going to lead this town in the future. And I am proud to be the parent of one those 5th graders.

The program itself, experience the children are getting, and the teacher support from West End is beyond amazing. To have my son (the blonde featured in the picture) come home excited about farming, being outdoors, and learning something not from a textbook is fabulous. He was aslo seen in the segmint on NBC Nightly News.

Not that income level or physical address is important, because its not. But for the record. we live in Eagle Springs, he rides the bus, does not attend after school care, and we are not in the upper level income bracket.

Our local school was featured not only in our paper, but in an NBC news segment seen throughout the state. Regardless of if you have school age children, or not, everyone should be proud of our school. West End teachers and staff are teaching children to becoming thinking, educated, self suffenct adults that will grow with our community. That in itself is important.

Pointing out what neighborhood they live in or if they are poor kids takes away from the importance of this entire article.
