No one has the right to vote in a presidential election. When you vote for president you are simply responding to a poll, to which the states electors promise to uphold.
Dusty I really hate to say it, but you deserve a raise. Your doing an outstanding job selling advertizing and keeping traffic on the pilot website!
TF121 it's important to note that the standard American arm at the time of revolution was not a "smooth bore musket" but the The American Longrifle AKA the Kentucky rifle. It's a very important distinction. The British army was largely defeated because we took advantage of rifling technology that originated in Germany. These longrifles allowed American troops to engage the British at 100 to 200 yards, whilst the enemy continued to march into their 40-60 yard engagement range.
Edit: not to mention that the skilled rifle man at the time, using mounted low power telescopes I.E. the rifle scope where killing British officers at 400 yards.
Oh any FYI the per capita income for NC is $25,256, and for the whole nation $27,915. So it would seem fair to say that our teachers are getting paid better than a lot the parents who's children they teach. Yet they demand yet more?
$31,220 and two months off a year isn't enough? We need to pay more for mediocre results? I wonder how the cost per student per year compares with the local charter and private schools. last I heard in Washington DC they where spending 18k per year per student for darn near the worst schools in the nation.
Teachers and their proponents need to step back and realize that ANYONE can teach a child well. It is not a special skill. Nor deserves special pay.
Talk to any 18 year old about physics, literature, or even examine some of their writing. (email, text, anything) The education system in the US is a big fat joke. I'd love to see a study that shows increasing teacher pay increase student performance- Ad infinitum.
"Even the most deadly firearms would be an insignificant check against tyranny."
And a goat herder from khakistain can't level a building in NYC, must have been Bush "the moron"'s plan to invade Iraq!
Jesus said to them, “But now if you have a purse, take it, and also a bag; and if you don’t have a sword, sell your cloak and buy one.”
According to John M. Snyder:
“At one time, King applied for a permit to carry a concealed handgun, but was denied. He was concerned for his personal safety, just as are a lot of law-abiding American citizens. “
“Finally, I contended that the debate over the question of self-defense was unnecessary since few people suggested that Negroes should not defend themselves as individuals when attacked. The question was not whether one should use his gun when his home was attacked, but whether it was tactically wise to use a gun while participating in an organized demonstration.” Martin Luther King, Jr., Where Do We Go From Here: Chaos or Community? Chapter II, Black Power, Page 27, Harper & Row Publishers Inc., First Edition, 1967.
“As we have seen, the first public expression of disenchantment with nonviolence arose around the question of “self-defense.” In a sense this is a false issue, for the right to defend one’s home and one’s person when attacked has been guaranteed through the ages by common law.” Martin Luther King, Jr., Where Do We Go From Here: Chaos or Community?
Dr. King owned semi automatic weapons, and I think he would vehemently disagree with you.
Mrs Pearsall believes that $37,000 is to high a price for a knee replacement. A procedure where they CUT open your body, exposing you to infection and inflammation, for the sole purpose of relieving the pains of aging. You should be remarking that it ONLY cost you 37k, and that you could even get it done. I am so disgusted by older folks like Mrs. Pearsall who likely happily spent more on her car than her husbands knee without complaint! Pitiful!
So Dusty thinks he's smarter than Krauthammer. That must be why Krauthammer writes for the Washington Post and you for the local rag in some backwater hick town in the old racist south right? Your hubris is as stunning as it is obvious.
"locally owned independent businesses had a local recirculation of revenue of 52 percent."
Internet retailers contribute 0%, but has half the price on the same product. Why should I buy local? I'm sorry but my wallet is not a jobs program. Offer a better value/product, or go beg at the government tit like GE, GM, and the rest.
This is the consumer attitude that has always been, get used to it.
