As long as there is slavery in Cuba the embargo should remain. More disgusting is that Beyonce and Jay-Z were served by black Cuban slaves for their wedding anniversary, but I guess it's ok because they're Democrats? Of course I'm just a racist for being white, residing in the south, and feeling resentful of my indentured servitude to those who openly proclaim that they should be exempt from service of any kind. My speech doesn't count.
People buy residential and commercial property with the expectation that their investments will be protected by zoning and other local governmental authority...
Unbelievable. We should take from the rich because they don't pay their fair share, but the better off deserve government protection from poor people moveing in next door? Disgusting, I suppose Mr. Mooneyham would like to force all the "less fortunate" in to a special "zone". Oh that's right, that's the government projects located in the inner cities, like Detroit, Chicago, and even Raleigh. They call them Ghettos in the movies and rap songs. How close are these "zones" to the gettos of infamy? They jail mothers who try to send their kids to a school were they won't get shot.
But we should totally protect the property value, oops, I mean Rights of those well to doers by limmiting the "Rights" of those without the money to buy theirs.
Oh and Dusty you can keep you wingnut insult to yourself sir, it's so very rude and unbecoming a person of your stature. I should think someone as intelligent as you can argue without such insults, after all isn't that what liberals claim? That they are the more logical and reasoned among us? Can you not make a point without resorting to insults? Or are you really that infantile? I really don't believe you are Sir, I believe you're better than that. Rise above the pettiness that is so often political discourse today.
Perhaps your just a advertizing tool. I can respect that, and there is no shame in it; but you can accomplish both goals simultaneously if you choose.
My point is that they are rich people with beach houses, and those that work for them. I'm sure that like everywhere the politics are divided, I only aim to point out the hypocrisy. Flood insurance is largely a subsidy for the rich, on the backs of the poor. Yet not a peep from your liberal friends.
If it weren't for federal flood insurance, very few would live on the outer banks. Just as there would have likely been less death and destruction in New Orleans. Federal Flood insurance costs peanuts compared to the benefits realized by it's insurees nearly every year. Flooding and hurricanes are seasonal events, and no one should be surprised when they happen repeatedly. More still those that choose to live in flood areas should be afforded no pity. It would be quite a stretch to find anyone who has not heard some variation on the wisdom of "building you house upon the rock". Even the pigmy tribes of New Guinea, totally illiterate, know better.
Remarkably in spite of flood insurance subsiding the rebuilding of the wealthy's homes and the communities that serve the wealthy, the leftists instead choose to whine yet more about global warming! Meanwhile they plunder the poor to repair the vacation towns of the rich or the fool.
Edit: Come to think of it, isn't it the leftists you most often find in these wealthy enclaves of seasonal destruction? Limousine Liberals is the best Liberal!
Jim Heim represents the best of the best in the Moore County Democratic Party and serves as their Chairman (last I heard anyway) I couldn't find their website.
MSNBC's Melissa Harris-Perry "...we have to break through our kind of private idea that kids belong to their parents, or kids belong to their families, and recognize that kids belong to whole communities."
When you compare her statement with this one you'd swear it's an April fools joke:
“When an opponent says ‘I will not come over to your side’ I calmly say, ‘Your child belongs to us already! What are you? You will pass on. Your descendants now stand in this new camp. In short time they will know nothing else but this new community.” A.H. (you guess which A.H., no not Hitchcock)
Or:
Phoenix, Arizona. In about six weeks they’ll be opening the city pools. This means they have to hire lifeguards. NPR is reporting that one Phoenix city worker said: “The kids in the pool are all either Hispanic or black or whatever, and every lifeguard is white, and we don’t like that.”
Perhaps a middle path. Most of the land that hunters use are private lands. These are ether their own property, or part of the NC Wildlife game lands. 90% of these game lands are privately owned lands that the owner is graciously sharing with his fellow hunters. These properties are not public parks, and use of these lands for activities other than hunting require permission from the land owner. I have encountered geocashers that foolishly planted their goodies on these private lands during hunting season! In gray and brown clothing and no bright orange no less! Folks need to understand that these activities are in fact trespass.
There are lands that are shared with both hikers and hunters alike. The Uwarrie National Forest is a fine example. I would suggest that hunting be closed on Sundays in these joint lands to allow our fellow non hunting conservationists to enjoy. The private game lands however, should not be entered by non hunters at anytime. These are not public parks, and non hunters should not enter them for their own safety.
altruism is a fallacy. Humans act only out of self interest. All institutions are made of groups of humans that share the same self interest and act in harmony to fulfill it. Therefore a government institution will act in the governments interest, and that interest is always increasing it's own power. To believe that an well educated populous is the goal of any government institution is an excellent example of the ignorance perpetuated by our government school system.

Troubling Project
Doesn't seem to be any great lack of pine trees or squirrels in Moore county, but pine roasted barbeque fox squirrel sure is tasty. Forward!
