Pinecrests season comes to a end Friday. Hoke is just better than us. The more I watch football in Moore County the more I find myself wondering what we need to do to improve it at all of our high schools. North Moore winless. Union Pines won only 2 games against much smaller schools. Pinecrest had a couple of good wins but others against schools they should beat. What is the problem with football and Moore County?

Lorna Clack has performed her duties as a school board member very well. She represents the entire school system. To many times canditates are running for office only to support the schools where their children attend or relatives work. Each child in this district deserves the same consideration regardless of where their home is located. I do believe Lorna Clack shares these beliefs. I can't say anything negative about Mr. Cameron because I don't know him, but I would guess that he is a good man as well. I would address the comment made by 'Doughnuts" who was taking a shot at our school police. My daughters had the greatest respect for these men and women and loved them being on her campus. They are always out and about anytime something is going on at our schools. Keep up the great work and we are thankful you are there everyday.

Finishing no worse than sixth is not a great accomplishment . Need to raise the bar a little.

I don't think anyone up there is worried about the YVC. It's about improving and that's what they are doing. If you can't say something nice then be quiet.

It's obvious you know nothing about NM or Simmons. You appear to be a sad old grumpy man. The players love and respect coach. Why don't you show up at some of the games any cheer them on.

RD28327 it seems to me that you find joy in reminding everyone theat NM hasn't won in a while. I know many parents and players from NM and all I ever hear is how much they have improved since Coach Simmons arrived. Interest is up in the program and that's a huge step considering the previous coaches, principals, and AD's, allowed it to hit rock bottom. The whispers in the communitiy is that those same people are looking to replace him. That wouldn't surprise me at all. Instead of downing a struggling program people should support it. You have a very good coach who loves the kids and the program. Lets back the Mustangs and turn this around. If Pinecrest can do it so can you.

North Moore has 50+ out this year. I went by each school last week and there was quiet a few players out there. I don't think NM needs a miracle. It looks like their coach has them heading in the right direction. Many of the 1A teams in NM's conference would destroy UP and PC as well. It's a tough conference so my hats off to the coaches and young men out there working hard. One of my friends coaches up there and he told me that Coach Simmons is doing all of the right things to change the programs direction. Reuben maybe you should ride up and take a look yourself instead of depending on rumors. As for UP and PC, I believe UP will be lucky to win a couple of games and PC will have to prove that they can play with the big boys. I live here and many are tired of all the hype. Win a conference championship or lets look for new leadership.

Young person your opinions would carry more weigh if the seniors would stop vandalizing the school. My daughter told me that over the last week they have spray painted the grounds, TP'ed the school, flattened bus tires, water ballon fights, and a food fight all in the name of senior pranks. Act like adults and maybe you will be treated that way and get your speaker.

If the school has a policy stating no to graduation speakers, then Mr County should have left it at that. No reason to play the blame game. I know all of the men mentioned in this article and I believe that Dr. Spence and Herb Hanson would have been glad to do this for the students.
