I read the comments on houstonisdwatch.com and found them interesting. It appears Aaron Spence is not the model for communication as a superintendent should be. It's important to be open-minded with any new employee, but it's also important to read background about him as well. If he wants to be a success at this job, he will need to communicate with teachers and staff and work as part of a team.

Tony, I tend to be a deep thinker but you lost me somewhat here. I'm a believer but I try to be careful with my language, too. Calling an atheist a "thief" is provocative and casting stones. Is that the way of the Gentle Shepherd? Here's something else and it breaks my heart to say it: many born-again Christians become smug because they know the truth and judge others who are different. Some of the nicest people I know are atheists. Shouldn't it be the other way around?

This should really be investigated. Everyone has told me what a great guy and animal rights activist Officer Ringelberger is. He should really speak out about what happened. I hate to dogs shot and I can't believe there was a good enough reason to shoot these dogs, especially since they were already secured. What is going on?

Deb, I totally agree with you. You've heard of the expression, "A picture is worth a thousand words." Let's add that it's also worth a thousand interpretations. You can't win. OJ's picture on Time or Newsweek looked too menacing. Bill Clinton always looked too slippery (if that's even possible). Sarah Palin comes off like a cheerleader. Well, I think Michele Bachman looks great for her age. Let's forget about her picture and her headaches and look at her political stand for the great debate. Isn't that what's important?

The verdict could possibly still be not guilty. There were African-Americans on the jury and women as well. I think the issue was the jurors did not understand the meaning of "beyond a reasonable doubt." They never put the pieces together and used common sense. That is only my opinion.

Oops! Correction! Should read to NOT notify authorities if a child goes missing within 24 hours. Sorry.

Once you hit "sign," the details come up. The petition looks to make a new law that will make it a felony for a parent or guardian to notify a child going missing within 24 hours. It's a shame we even have to have a law like this, isn't it?

Please sign the petition for Caylee's Law on change.org, which are asking legislators to make it a felony for parents not to report missing children in a timely manner.

Actually I didn't forget it. I watched the entile trial and I don't accept it. You can hire an expert to say anything these days. As a matter of fact, Casey even "cried" during this testimony, but she rarely cried real tears over her daughter. She knew right from wrong and exactly what she was doing.

Dusty, I usually agree with you, but not on this one. We don't need to know how the child died in a murder trial, I believe, although it would be helpful. We do know that her body was found thrown in a swamp with duct tape on her mouth. The mother was the last one with her and didn't report her missing for 31 days. What was she doing? Partying, shopping, etc. She had the smell of death in her car as winessed by many people. How about the chloroform? Wow! That's lots of evidence and I don't care what the Kardashians say, either. That's just the way it is...it's called beyond a reasonable doubt.
