DingoMike: I think your analogy with the sheep, wolves and sheep dog is important because it seems to be the beginning of where we disagree. Reportedly, Samuel Adams said it this way: "If ye love wealth greater than liberty, the tranquility of servitude greater than the animating contest for freedom, go home from us in peace. We seek not your conusel, nor your arms. Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you; and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen."

I don't agree with Samuel Adams in this respect and I don't agree with you: it doesn't require a gun to be a hero in the "animating contest for freedom..." The history of our nation has been shaped just as much by people without guns, ie--Martin Luther King, Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein, etc.

Your are entitled to the same rights I am under 2A, but you are not a superior citizen because you own guns and I don't. So let's elevate the conversation: forget about how important YOU are and how important I am, and think about how important our CHILDREN are. My thought is that the answer is not to buy another gun, or create another violent video game, or take more dollars away from the mentally ill. Our rights to do any of these things will be lost if we stay on the path we're on.
