So we banned concealed carry because we don't want our kids to be around people that are capable of passing a background check, is mentally stable, has no violent crimes in their past, isn't currently going through being prosecuted for any, isn't a felon, and hasn't had a DWI in the past 3 years? Good move Pinehurst.

Well good, when I'm not wearing my seatbelt and someone hits me I'm going to say "It doesn't matter, it wasn't my fault!"

Seriously, sometimes you have to understand that you can minimize your chances of being a victim and sometimes it's necessary to do so. It's not about shifting the blame but about lessening YOUR problems that arise as a result of the crime.

Steph, how about we keep the illegals and send the lifetime welfare abusers to Mexico? At least most of the illegals WANT to work. Since we are all dreaming haha

I've got one you can put on a sticky note:

If the deficit is more than 3% of the GDP, there are no reelections.

If the previous owner received a letter regarding this already, wouldn't they need to mention this with the sale of the house? Same as if there were any other problems/issues/known changes with the house.

Robbie, there are both state and local ordinances that cover golf carts on the roads. I'd suggest reading them before getting all pissy about it. VillageofPinehurst.org is a good resource on this.

If these people aren't following the rules they need to be cited. I don't run into the problem but I can see it being a nuisance. At the very least getting a warning might let them know that they are in the wrong and it's not just a bunch of cranky senior citizens that don't want them on the road period.

I like Toda's method the best.

5:1? By a bunch of folk that will never use it? And yet the complaint is about people that don't live here developing here?

Not everyone gives a hoot to be near downtown Southern Pines. Let's put MORE housing in downtown and destroy that area but not an area that can use development? What happens when those people want chain restaurants and stores they can afford to shop at? Now they can't have those things because we HAD to go downtown.

What's wrong with next to the airport? It's between Southern Pines and the school, which would make it an ideal place for students to live along with many others. With the Harris Teeter going in there and the Food Lion that was recently put in, that area could be a hot spot. More jobs, more taxes for the city to waste on shooting down other projects, and a better, more convenient place folk to live. What a terrible idea!

Let's not forget about how big of a deal the entire area is making over 2014 with a whole bunch of changes happening. Of course, it's just those darn golfers and tourists that are going to destroy the place, those people don't live here so who really cares what they think or want.

Can we skip the "But an airplane might crash into the building!" argument on the next reply?

Kthxbye
