I would like to thank everyone who posts on these blogs for providing me with unlimited entertainment! I am still amazed at how a story about a police officer using a tazer during a traffic stop turns into such mud slinging and name calling! Reading these blogs is so much better than reality TV!!!! Thanks again!
yes, pgericson, that healthcare is paid for by taxes...but the working people in those countries pay 45% or more of their income in taxes to cover that care. I can just imagine the reaction here if the government took 45% (or more) from everyone's income to fund healthcare and all the other services that they provide.
Best wishes to the couple. I met my husband online 16 years ago...in an AOL chat room. We were both widowed. Spent hours online and on the phone (AT&T loved us - $500 a month phone bills between the two of us!). Got married 10 months later and have been together ever since! Neither of us was looking for a lifemate when we met either! May you have many happy years together Amanda and Andrew!
babiehop brings up a good point.....I have to buy insurance to register/drive my car. Maybe gun owners need to buy insurance to register/own a weapon. Only problem I see with that is only the honest people will have the insurance (and register the gun)....it will just like the car insurance issue...people out there every day driving around without car insurance. I am not sure what the solution is, but I hope some one figures it out soon. I do agree with the posts about people taking responsibility for their actions. Long overdue!
I would rather have had them put desktop PCs in a computer lab shared by all students - less money involved and better control over what they are doing with them. We can't afford to buy books for students thereby forcing them to share them at school and not be able to bring them home to study but we can afford to give out iPads????
buddysmith - all that money goes to pay the coaching staff the multi-million dollar salaries some of those big schools pay. Most of the coaching staff makes more money in 6 months than tenured professors make in an entire school year!
Grandchildren are such a joy to be around! I have a 3 year old grandson also. Unfortunately for me, he lives with his parents in West Texas so I don't get to see him often. He has a new little sister who just turned 1 last month. I did get to visit with both of them for a few days then. Enjoy him as often as you can! Even if it means putting down the beer long enough to run alongside the bicycle!!!
Thanks for listening to the community and offering sign up for this program on Saturdays! I think there are many who work during the week who could benefit from this program and now they will have the opportunity to sign up! I know I plan to visit one of these Saturday locations!

$2.7 million for 23 additional parking spaces doesn't sound very cost effective!
