Thoughts and prayers with the Marquez family during this most difficult time. We know Mrs. Marquez through the schools and "Mr. Drew" through Cyber Ed. A wonderful family who all work honorably in public service.

Yeah for Mr. Davenport! I'd much rather see federal grant money going to a proven, successful businessman who will create jobs and help the Aberdeen economy rather than to those incapable crooks out west with Solyndra!

To add, DD should go on 15-501 - why around the corner from Granny's????

You can't beat Granny's, and they are local! They are super nice too and they make my coffee right there on the spot, without me having to mix in the cream and sugar. It's perfect! The locals will know where the best donuts are. Give Dunkin Donuts to the travelers coming through. :):)

How about everyone just stop the politics, the grumbling, and the spell-checking and INSTEAD express sympathies for this construction worker! Is my spelling correct?? Oh gosh! My thoughts and prayers are with him and his family.

My prayers for this deputy and his family. So sad and terrible that this has happened. Our law enforcement do so much to keep us safe. They put their lives on the line for us everyday.

I hope the Lob Steer reopens. They have the best prime rib around and the best ambience.
The economy has hit everyone hard including so many of our local businesses. Let's get behind them vs. passing judgement. Who has been able to pay all their bills on time and in full during these very difficult ecomonic times?? Not many I'm sure. The Gibson family is a very nice family who seem to be very involved in the schools and their community. Their kids go to school with mine. Everyone deserves another chance. I look forward to getting back to the restaurant soon and sitting at one of my favorite tables in front of the fireplace eating a delicious prime rib and getting to the cheesebread at the salad bar! :)

AHES has been a "closed-door" school - only accepting students in their district. As per the school administration. There was a teacher there once who could not even get her child a spot in the school because she lived in Aberdeen. You say there are students from all districts? It would be interesting to learn about how those students were able to bypass a policy. I wish AHES school wasn't closing - I have many friends who have or had children there. It's a fabulous school, and I support keeping it open. Why don't they open up year round schools in the other PH area elementary schools as an option? SP schools have both year round and traditional. In fact, the year-round schools now have more students than the traditional - I don't see how they'll support that many students in year round if PH kids attend it as well. If there is room - than I welcome the PH students!!:)
