I Grew up right here in Moore county during segregation...Grew up on Tobacco farms where all the kids(Black and White) played and worked together(Didnt think there was any real difference)....Never knew what was going on in the rest of the Country(Big Cities).That was until Moore co. desegregated..I was on the first Buses that shuttled kids back and forth to different Schools...Thats when I realized other people had different ideas about other races....I saw it in my own family.I saw it in friends and strangers..I believe I know racism when I see it..I also know what "Reverse Racism" and "Grandstanding"is,and think thats whats going on here...There really isnt a legitimate reason not to show ID when voting..IMHO
Doesnt this seem to be just the opposite of what they said about the new web page to bring money and technology to Moore co. Im guessing no one on the board would benefit from this..
JimHeim; I dont understand what exactly you mean by"people should bear responsbility"...Are you refering to the statement you made about holding a gun owner responsible for a crime commited with their stolen weapon? If so,Would you also want Car owners to be held liable for a crime commited with their stolen automobile? Seems a little to extreme to me....I tend to agree with another poster that said,When he locked his home doors,his guns are secure..If someone commits the crime of breaking in my home,I shouldnt be held accoutable for thier actions..
I would agree with testing reciepients,if they tested everyone that got a check from the government... Starting with everyone in Washington and Raleigh and Carthage...
Carter only said what he thought and what information was availible in 1977....Technology has changed quite a bit since then.....Though, I would never defend Carter as a President...
