so what does your attendance at various churches have to say about the obvious hatred you have for 'organized' religion? I've been around the 'world' a few times myself, MC7...from sweat ceremonies with Papago indians in AZ, drum circles on Dead tour, attending catholic, methodist, baptist, episcopalian, presbyterian, church of zion and church of satan services. yes, I've even witnessed a supposed talking in tongues at a pentecostal church as well as having attended a family church in KY that were snake handlers. After having said all that, I still don't get where you are coming from when you spit out comments against churches helping the needy. Was there a church that refused you help that has jaded your outlook?
my father was one of the first marines to go to Vietnam and he spent 3 tours there....one of my grandfathers served as soldier and consultant in 4 'wars' and the other grandfather was taken prisoner in WWII and escaped from a prison camp with 100 other soldiers. Their deeds and experiences, however, are not mine.
I was a tree hugging hippie myself for a decade or so, but then had to grow up and realize that the world is not ideal nor is it ethical.
I think what surprises me about you, is that the anger you have is not carried over to the current administration...as well as past administrations. How can you not be angry that the tranparency that was promised does not exist? that the line by line veto isn't happening? that the soldiers have not been brought home as promised. Your arguments would seem more valid if you held the current administration as responsible as the past administrations.
MC7-one just needs to drive through any public housing development on any given work day and they can see for themselves the fraud that exists. the lexus', cadillacs, BMWs and Mercedes line the driveways. I know MANY women on welfare and other public assitance programs. When they get jobs, they request that they only get 22 hours or less per week so that their assistance checks don't get decreased. I also know that many of these women have more and more children so that they can increase the amount of food stamps and earned income credit for their families. This system is ripe with fraud as well as a lack of ethics and I am absolutely astonished that someone that worked in the system for 20 plus years didn't learn that. I've known many social workers and all that I've spoken with knew and recognized the rampant fraud that occurs.
@LadyLane: to wager a guess, the stolen car exceeds a higher value, therefore it warrants a higher bond...the damage in the home that the 'woman' is being accused of committing may not have exceeded the dollar amount to warrant a higher bond. (i am completely making a guess as I know neither of the suspects)
