Although I live in the Charlotte area now, my roots are still in Moore County! While making frequent trips "back home" I enjoy seeing the tall pines, sand and the rolling landscapes of the golf courses and farms.

Guardians of the Children - Mooresville, NC Chapter adopted their first child on Sunday, April 11, 2010. Our newest angel was the victim of physical abuse by her father. After our ceremony we asked if there was anything in particular she wanted or needed from us. Her reply was "just keep my daddy away from me." No child should ever have to speak those words. On Monday, we escorted her to court where she saw her abuser. In a moment, her fears, tears and anxiety were swept away by the love and support of her new family. I am grateful to be a part of an organization that empowers children and offers them support to get through their difficult circumstances.

Guardians of the Children sounds like a great organization! Are they a 501 c3 non-profit? When and where will your upcoming event be posted? LOBELIA ROOTS.....does that make you a former UP Viking? Keep up the great work! Fishing blog..."dam" reply cracked me up!
