Sweet Basil is excellent! I agree with the poster above that it is indeed cramped, but isn't the type of place to go when you're in a rush. The lunch wait can sometimes be lengthy and it is close quarters. The food is completely worth the wait and the being squeezed in close next to other diners. The grilled cheese, ham with fontina, and Greek salad are all spectacular. Be sure to visit this downtown Southern Pines landmark!

Food is great, service is decent at best and the restaurant is VERY cramped. On my last vist, I had to move my table myself because a diner at a neighboring table was so close to me I could feel her hair brushing against my neck. The food is the only reason I go back- it really is delicious!

Only the best place ever to eat!!!!! They have the most amazing sandwiches, fries, salad and pizza on the planet. Not to mention the soup. I have never gone to Sweet Basil and had a bad experience much less a bad meal. Everything is good EVERYTIME! The wait might be a little long some days but man oh man is it worth it! Anyone who hasn't been to Sweet Basil is missing out. No matter what you get you'll be happy you did. Love the food, the service, the employees, but not the parking :)
