Details
My counseling practice is for children, adolescents, adults, and families. I have a deeply client-centered approach which underlies the different therapies I utilize. With children, I use play and expressive therapies as well as cognitive behavioral therapy. With adults, I utilize mindfulness and acceptance based behavioral therapies and more insight-oriented approaches as well. Some of the therapy issues I address are: anxiety, depression, OCD, ADHD, separation and divorce, grief and loss, parenting, and both existential and spiritual concerns. Education is an important part of the therapy as well.
I help people by listening to them with compassion and understanding and by becoming a collaborative partner in navigating complicated feelings, life's struggles, crises, and transitions. I assist people to discover and trust their inner resources and wisdom and accept and love the parts of themselves that interfere with living a life in the present with intentionality, happiness, and meaning.
