WEB: More Spottings of
"Mountain Lion" Reported

While authorities might doubt whether there is a mountain lion roaming Moore County, three more sightings, in addition to two reports received last week, have been reported to The Pilot. Jonathan Shaw, district biologist with the N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission, is skeptical — not of the sightings, but of what people believe they saw. “My guess is that what’s happening now is not the result of a mountain lion,” Shaw said.
“My guess is that it’s probably something else, that people are mistaking it for something else.”
